When you use AI Warranty & Expenses, we may collect the following types of personal data:

  • Product type classifications
  • Subscription and purchase information related to your AI Warranty & Expenses subscriptions (processed by Apple and RevenueCat)

3.3 Images and Documents

We store photos and documents you upload, including:

  • Receipt photos (for warranties and shared expenses)
  • Product photos
  • Warranty contract documents

3.4 Shared Expense Groups

When you create or join an expense group, we collect and store:

  • Group name and membership
  • Share codes used to invite others to a group
  • Receipts, line items, totals, categories, and spending totals you add to the group
  • Your display name or email as shown to other members in the group (for example, who added a receipt)

Visibility: Receipts, totals, and related information you add to a shared expense group are visible to all current members of that group. Only join groups you trust. Group owners can rotate share codes, which invalidates the previous code for new joins.

We may collect information about how you use the app, including:

  • Device information (type, operating system)
  • App usage patterns and interaction events (such as screens viewed and features used)
  • Error logs and crash reports

3.6 Camera and Photo Library Access

The app may request access to your device's camera and photo library so you can take or choose photos of receipts and warranty documents. We use this access only when you explicitly add a warranty, add an expense receipt, or attach an image. We do not access the camera in the background or record without your action.

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide warranty tracking and shared expense group features
  • Process receipt and document images and extract product, warranty, and expense data using AI
  • Store, organize, and display your warranty records and group expense data across your devices
  • Show shared expense information to members of groups you join or create
  • Manage your subscriptions and purchases and send important service notifications
  • Improve app performance, reliability, and overall user experience
  • Ensure security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations

5. AI Processing

When you upload images of receipts or warranty contracts, we use artificial intelligence services (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) to extract product and warranty information. When you upload receipt images for shared expenses, we use similar AI services to extract shop names, dates, totals, line items, and spending categories. Your images are sent to these third-party AI services for automated processing.

This AI processing is used only to provide the core functionality of the application and to improve the quality of data extraction. We do not use your images or extracted data to train public AI models.

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud-based backend service. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest
  • Row-level security policies ensuring data isolation between users
  • Secure authentication and authorization
  • Regular security audits and updates

7. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • AI Service Providers: Images are sent to AI providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) for data extraction
  • Cloud Storage: Data is stored on Supabase infrastructure
  • Subscription Management and Payments: Subscription and purchase information may be processed by RevenueCat and Apple
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
